The 2nd Biggest Search Engine

YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine on the internet.

It’s the modern-day Library of Alexandria for creators and students alike.

If you’ve got a question as a visual learner, you first search “how to do XYZ” on YouTube.

Because of the traffic, the ‘Tube has always been a goldmine as a monetization channel.

One of the biggest things that keeps people from starting their own channel?

They don’t want to be the face of it all.

Enter: Faceless Channels

In recent years, faceless YouTube channels have exploded in popularity, offering creators a way to rake in cash without ever revealing their identity.

Instead, they use pseudonyms or stay completely anonymous.

These channels often rely on voiceovers, animations, screen recordings, or text-based videos to communicate their message.

They dive into everything from product reviews to tutorials and spicy commentary on current events.

Thanks to the rise of AI tools, cranking out content for faceless channels has never been easier or more efficient.

The AI Arsenal

A range of AI tools makes creating content for faceless YouTube channels a breeze, from language models to slick video editing and text-to-video solutions.

Here’s what’s hot in the AI world:

  • ChatGPT: This AI language model helps with writing tasks, including video scripts that pack a punch.

  • Crayo: A killer video editing tool that uses AI to craft professional-quality videos with eye-catching templates and animations.

  • Canva Image AI: A new feature of Canva that allows you to create eye-catching thumbnails

  • Well Said Labs: Transforms scripts into dynamic video content, perfect for faceless YouTube

  • View Stats: YouTube analytics for video optimization (created by Mr Beast)

These AI tools let creators churn out top-tier content without needing serious video editing chops or an on-camera presence.

Remove Face + Add Cash

Faceless channels can score big with Google Ad revenue, sponsorships, subscription income, and merch sales.

Some channels are cashing in over $1,000 a day.

To hit it big, pick a niche, scope out the competition, and create content that hooks viewers.

Dodge copyright drama by sticking to copyright-free content, Creative Commons materials, or your own animations.

AKA: Get The F*ck Outta Here

If you’re a sane person at all, you’ve watched The Bear on Hulu.

(*Takes a deep breath*: We’re gonna hit a quick run-on sentence as to how this show is utterly fantastic and deserves the praise it gets from the script & casting to the post-production and color grading because it tells a story in such a different way than traditional streaming services choose to and you missed the point if you didn’t think the season 3 premiere was one of the best episodes of the whole show. **Takes a deep breath again**)

If you haven’t, it’s a show about chefs in the world of fine dining.

When they create new dishes, a common theme is the removal of too many ingredients.

We’ve all been in the kitchen adding ingredients to a plate to spruce it up because we didn't plan it out.

“Oh! This will be good, right!?” - you and me.

The answer is no and it’s not because we both just added 89g of carbs and sodium to our plate.

It’s because we got too many damn ingredients.

We gotta remove the distractions.

There’s a new product in the world that I came across called Brick.

It’s a tool that helps you remove distractions from your phone so you can get your work done without your phone distracting you.

The product itself is so simple and effective that it practically sells itself.

… Which is why the product’s landing page is one of my favorites I’ve come across in 2024.

It’s aesthetically beautiful, to the point, and lets the product be the hero.

5th-Grade Math Equation To Making Money

When I was 20 years old, I was an intern at Common Thread Collective - one of the top DTC growth agencies in the world with clients like Nike, Igloo, and Theragun.

There was a sign on the wall that I saw every single morning that changed the way I looked at business.

V x CR x AOV = $

Let’s break it down.

V stands for visitors.

These are the people that walk into your store or come to your website.

CR stands for conversion rate.

This is the percentage of visitors that convert into paying customers.

AOV stands for average order value.

This is the average amount of money people spend with you.

$ stands for revenue.

This is cash collected - NOT cash in your pocket.

It doesn’t mean profit.

We’ll get into that equation another time.

Increase Any Lever To Earn More Revenue

Let’s do some 5th-grade math.

100 people visit your website.

10 visitors (10%) convert into customers.

Those 10 customers spend $20 each.

100 × 10% x $20 = $200 in revenue

Example #1: More Visitors

200 people visit your website.

10% convert into customers.

Those customers spend $20 each.

200 × 10% x $20 = $400 in revenue

Example #2: Convert More Visitors Into Customers

100 people visit your website.

20% convert into customers.

Those customers spend $20 each.

100 × 20% x $20 = $400 in revenue

Example #3: Increase The Average Value Per Transaction

100 people visit your website.

10% convert into customers.

Those customers spend $40 each.

100 × 10% x $40 = $400 in revenue

Increase at least one lever to increase revenue.

… Or increase all three because that’s more fun, obviously.

Liquid Death

The #1 Rule In Business

David Ogilvy is the Godfather of advertising and would have been a billionaire if he hit his prime during the age of Meta & Tik Tok.

He once said, “You can’t bore people into buying your products”.

Do Not Be Boring

It’s my favorite rule of business and one company is doing it at the highest level.

Liquid Death is known for its boldly-named canned water.

They already crushed the #1 rule with their name, branding, and choice of tall boy cans.

But beyond that?

They’re marketing team is stacked with genius risk-takers.

Liquid Death knows water itself isn’t that sexy so they created a character known as Murder Man who…

Murders thirst.

Their first step into the entertainment industry is an animated series titled ‘The Adventures Of Murder Man’.

Here’s how Deadline explains it:

“The story follows Murder Man, a mysterious vigilante, doing what he does best: wreaking havoc and murdering thirsts with his bloodstained battle ax.

With eyeballs for nipples and an aluminum can for a head, The Adventures of Murder Man will uncover how he discovers his past and tries to reunite with his family from before he was forced into becoming a vigilante, by Liquid Death’s CEO.”

It’s their way to show the brand’s unconventional approach to marketing and diversification.

Different creative pursuits call for different music to jam to. Here’s what I jammed to this week on The Vomp Playlist:

TE AMO ❤️

Three phrases have changed my life more than any others:

  1. Thank you

  2. I appreciate you

  3. I love you

Te amo is Spanish for “I love you.” It’s also the most beautiful-sounding phrase in any language I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. It just flows right off the tongue.

I mean all 3 to you as you read this.

Thanks for giving it your attention and your most valuable resource - your time.

I appreciate you. Te amo.

Ride the lightning,

Luke Bockenstette
