It's also acts as a "Start Here, Manifesto, Biography,

Because why not?

WTF IS AN "OUTPUT" STUDIO?

And other FAQs...

Title

+ What is VOMP Studios?

Title

A creative output studio for the vandals, outlaws, misfits, and pirates of the internet.

It's a corner of the internet for the creatives, indie hackers, brand builders, content machines, marketers, and anyone who creates cool shit and sells like hell (or wants to start).

It exists to help you create cooler, build better, earn easier, and break all the rules.

+ Why an "output" studio?

Title

Because the internet allows us to do so much more than just 1-2 things at a time.

The work is the "output" and it includes everything from media and community to threads and services.

And also because when you build your own website you're allowed to write whatever the hell you want 😜

+ What does VOMP mean?

Title

VOMP stands for Vandals, Outlaws, Misfits, and Pirates.

We’re gonna redefine those words so we’re all on the same page and you know you’re in the right place.

Because you are. Right here, right now.

Vandal

Old: a person who deliberately destroys or damages public or private property.

New: a person who deliberately destroys or damages public or private expectations

Outlaw

Old: a person who has broken the law, especially one who remains at large or is a fugitive

New: a person who has broken the “rules”, especially one who creates with reckless abandon

Misfit

Old: a person whose behavior or attitude sets them apart from others in an uncomfortably conspicuous way

New: a person whose self-belief and creative capacity sets them apart from others

Pirate

Old: a person who attacks and robs ships at sea

New: a person who attacks and robs the voice in their head that ever told them they couldn’t do something

+ Who is VOMP Studios?

Title

VOMP Studios is the creative brainchild of me, Luke Bockenstette. (Full timeline below). Somebody once called me a Digital Architect so that's the title I'm running with these days.

+ Why is this important to you?

Title

I've always been a dude that hated being told to do things a certain way "because that's how it's always been done."

I think that's horseshit. I detest that notion with my entire being.

I dropped out of college and have become a self-taught creator, builder, and brand marketer since I was 16.

The internet has given us the tools to build whatever lifestyle we want through distribution, leverage, and community.

And I know how to do that.

So that's the goal - autonomy, liberation, and freedom of the creative spirit.

As Peter Parker says...

"When you can do the things that I can, but you don't and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you."

+ Do you still work with clients? I heard you charge $750 per email!?

Title

This is where the "creative studios" part comes in. This is usually a one-man shop unless a creative project calls for a team, then I bring in some of the best vibe cultivators and ink-slingers I know to sell like hell for top creators and brands.

We aren't taking any more clients on at the moment but you can check the page here  if you're one of those people that enjoys teasing themselves. And yes, I do run $750 per inbox visit.

+ Are you the guy with the viral "whiskey dick" email?

Title

Yes.

A few years back, I had an email list that used "Whiskey Dick." as the subject line of the very first welcome email. It was the most successful email I've ever written. I  brought that back in a special way inside The Creator's Club where you can find a full masterclass on creative copywriting.

+ Wait... I wanna write emails for people if I can get paid $750. How do I start?!?

Title

Writing 300-500 words on a Google Doc half-buzzed in your underwear sounds fun? Obviously.

Getting paid $750 for those 13 minutes of work per client sound even better? Obviously.

I teach you how to do that in The 90-Minute Workday - an email-delivered masterclass on how to become a full-time, paid email copywriter that could make as much as dentists, doctors, and lawyers. Where?

In The Creator's Club.

+ Why do you cuss in your writing?

Title

The short answer? Because I can. The long answer? I use fuck-words when I speak.

Sometimes I use a f*cking asterisk in my writing and sometimes I don't. I write like I speak because our customers are real human beings that cuss too.

I've had the opportunity to meet quite a lot of people that I would personally call very successful. Almost every single one I know, even decently well, says fuck, shit, and drops the well-timed dick joke in conversation.

And I'm DEFINITELY not just talking about dudes, either.

+ What the f*ck does "mainlining creativity" mean???

Title

Let me start this by saying drugs aren't cool and I do NOT recommend you use them unless prescribed by a doctor (or whatever legal copy makes you listen to a medical professional and not me).

Mainlining means to inject a substance directly into your bloodstream via a needle. VOMP Studios is for those that feel they mainline creativity and without it feel like a fiend.

Again - don't do drugs, kids.

+ Okay... What does Wealth & Hellness mean then???

Title

Besides the obvious play on words, it's a line in the sand.

Creators have always been ridiculed as vandals or outlaws by minds who couldn't understand another soul's call for creation. So we lean into that creative uneasiness of society by calling it "hellness".

Through these creative efforts, we gain wealth.

Not just the monetary but the mental, emotional. and spiritual wealth we gain by not shying away from our truest selves.

+ Is it true you catfished Rob Dyrdek?

Title

No, not really. Well, kinda. But... not really.

Back in 2020, I was on Rob Dyrdek's Podcast, Build With Rob, with my best friend, Kaleb Fossum.

They wanted to interview operators so Kaleb and I whipped up a pitch deck and pitch video about a fake product. They loved it. Even when we told Rob it wasn't real but we explained what we were doing.

Here's what he said about us:

"As someone who builds brands for a living, these guys have the energy, drive, passion, and stop-at-nothing attitude. They're cut from the cloth it actually takes to create success."

Kinda rad because I've always loved his stuff.

+ This is a weird "about" page.

Title

No question? Cool.

This is an about-manifesto-bio-lookbook-inspiration page.

Because why not?

Scroll to read the manifesto.

Here's the deal: I write a lot - I love it.

This is an outlet for marketing, philosophy, creativity, dealing with the human condition, cocktail dinner questions, and everything in between.

... Because we can't build great, big, cool shit without a deep understanding and relationship with that roommate in our mind we call, "The voice in our head."

Life itself is the hardest endeavor we have... and then we also wanna be vulnerable, creative and all that jazz too?

That's a scary, lonely path.

It doesn't have to be - that's why this exists.

You're not alone.

We're not alone.

VOMP Studios is a creative OUTPUT shop for the vandals, outlaws, misfits, and pirates of the internet.

1 - We don’t chase happiness. We chase energy.

2 - We’re passionately curious and relentlessly learning.

3 - Be a kind motherfucker. Don’t be an asshole but don’t get walked over either.

4 - Write your own rules. Ethically break all the other ones.

5 - Create. Make stuff. Do things. Press upload. Ship it and see what happens.

6 - Our customers are human beings. Not data points with wallets. Treat them as such.

7 - Do what you say you’re gonna do. To everybody - but especially yourself.

8 - The way it’s been done is not the way it has to be done. Take risks if you believe in it.

9 - Profit pays the bills. Likes and page views don’t. Sell. Like hell.
